family time and birthdays
It’s officially my Spring Break – one of the biggest perks of being a teacher! And to kick of my week of leisure I got partake in one of my favorite activities – birthday celebrations. I love birthdays. Love them. I think that every single person deserves to feel like a king or queen at least once a year and any excuse for a family gathering is a plus. Saturday was my mother-in-law’s birthday and I am so grateful for the time spent with her and my sister-in-law’s at lunch and the nail salon…although I think after our second glass of wine the nail people were ready for us to leave… But Saturday night the celebration continued as we introduced my 2 ½ year old nephew to oysters and, despite his father’s extreme dislike, he loved them! Quite impressive for such a young taste pallet I must say. Now I’m jetting to Charleston (well, not really jetting, but it sounds so much cooler) with my parents for the Family Circle Tennis Tournament. Oh! And I’ve got a surprise for you… Tomorrow I’ll feature my first guest blogger – a dear friend writing to you from all the way across the Atlantic. Can’t wait and Happy Monday!
